Tips to go 38-0-0

A perfect season is rare by design, but good decisions move the odds in your favour. These tips will not guarantee 38 wins, yet they will lift your average and get you closer more often.

  1. Protect your spine first. A strong goalkeeper, two centre backs, a central midfielder and a striker carry your rating. If a spin offers a top player in one of those roles, take them, even over a slightly higher rated winger.
  2. The big clubs are your friends. The reels favour the biggest sides a little, so you will see them often. When a title winning season comes up, draft from it. Those squads are deep, so there is usually a strong option for whatever slot you still need.
  3. Match the formation to your draws, not the other way round. If you keep landing midfielders, a 3-5-2 will use them. If attackers keep coming, lean toward 4-2-4. Reading the formations guide helps you commit early to the right shape.
  4. Stay flexible on positions. Full backs and wing backs share a family, and many players cover more than one role. Keep a couple of flexible slots open late so a great player is never wasted.
  5. Save your re-spin for the worst round. You get one re-spin per game. Do not burn it early on a draw that is merely average. Hold it for the round where your best available pick is genuinely weak, since that is where it lifts your average the most.
  6. Do not chase one position too long. If you have one slot left and keep drawing clubs without that position, the game gives you free spins until one fits. Be patient, the right draw will come.
  7. Balance attack and defence. A team stacked with attackers but light at the back will not go unbeaten. The projected season rewards a complete side, so spread your strongest picks across the pitch.
  8. Try Expert mode once you know your history. With ratings hidden you draft on pure knowledge, and landing a perfect season that way is the ultimate flex. Brush up with how ratings work first.
